Born in Chester County, Penn., daughter of George Elliott. The family moved to Spiritwood, N.D. in 1880. She was one of the first students at Jamestown College and among the first in its teacher training classes. She taught in Jamestown, and Fargo, N.D., later became elementary principal in Fargo.
